The hotel is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom. Position: Groups & Events Coordinator (M/F/D) (Full time #538171) Property / Office: Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich Location: Zurich, Switzerland

The Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is located in the heart of the Old Town, in the main business center, close to the citys leisure attractions and just a short walk from the shores of Lake Zurich. The Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich has 80 guest rooms and suites and three dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a lobby lounge. The hotel is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

As Groups & Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Effective sales of the meeting space and group room revenue in line with MOHG standards
  • Maintains the customer relationship from the initial stage through to the post event phase to the return to sales for re-solicitation
  • Coordinates and communicates verbally and in writing with the customer and hotel operations the details of the event. Attains and provides Post-event feedback to the customer
  • Liaison between the operation and the customer throughout the event process (pre-event, event, and post-event)
  • Is accountable for customers experiences from file turnover through the post event phase until turnover back to sales.
  • Makes presence known to customer during the entire event process. Is available to solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements
  • Greets customer during the event phase and hands off to operations for the execution of details
  • Effectively upsells throughout the pre-event and event phases

As Groups & Events Coordinator, we expect from you:

  • Previous experience in Events and Groups is required for this role
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment would be an advantage
  • Must be excellent in using computer and well versed in all computer applications
  • Charming and outgoing with excellent interpersonal skills for both external and internal customers
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Positive attitude and good communicator
  • Fluent in German and a good standard of English is required
  • Effective time management, communication and presentation skills
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • The successful candidate must already be eligible to work in Switzerland
