What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Reconciliation: Assist in the daily and weekly reconciliation of transactions between our internal ledgers, payment processor reports, and bank statements. This is a critical function to ensure every Naira and Kobo is accounted for.
Bookkeeping Support: Help with data entry and maintenance of our financial records using accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books, QuickBooks). This includes recording expenses, payables, and receivables.
Reporting Assistance: Support the finance team in preparing weekly and monthly financial reports, including performance summaries and variance analysis.
Expense Management: Assist in processing and verifying employee expense reports and vendor invoices.
Compliance & Audit Support: Help gather and organize financial data required for regulatory reporting and our annual financial audits.
Process Improvement: Participate in identifying opportunities to improve and automate financial processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with the Operations and Customer Support teams to investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies.
Eligibility: Must be a recent graduate, a current NYSC member, or a university student seeking an Industrial Training (IT) placement. Your field of study must be Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
Strong Numerical & Analytical Skills: You are comfortable working with numbers and have a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Excel/Spreadsheets: You have solid skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (e.g., using formulas, pivot tables).
Foundational Accounting Knowledge: You have a good understanding of basic accounting principles (debits/credits, financial statements).
High Integrity & Discretion: You understand the importance of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive financial information.
Eager to Learn & Proactive: You are a self-starter, highly organized, and genuinely curious about the intersection of finance and technology.
Pursuing or an interest in professional qualifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is a plus.
Practical Fintech Accounting Experience: You will learn how financial operations work in a high-volume, digital transaction environment—experience you can't get in a textbook.
