Role Overview

We are seeking a Volunteer PHP Backend Developer with strong CodeIgniter experience to help maintain and improve our existing web platform. This is not a build-from-scratch project, your role will be to fix bugs, improve functionality, and integrate essential features like Zoom and Google Meet for seamless mentor-mentee sessions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the existing backend system built with PHP (CodeIgniter).
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs to ensure a smooth user experience.
• Integrate APIs (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) to support virtual mentorship sessions.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver backend solutions aligned with our mission.
• Contribute at least 12 hours per week consistently.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong knowledge of PHP and CodeIgniter framework.
• Proven experience integrating third-party APIs.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to commit at least 12 hours weekly in a volunteer capacity.

Nice-to-Have

• Knowledge of frontend basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with NOSQL optimization.
• Previous experience with community, mentorship, or edtech platforms.
