Postdoctoral position in life course studies / social inequality / social stratification /economic sociology

Starting date: 01.09.2025

Duration of contract: 1 year, renewable for 1 x 2 years, with a maximum duration of 3 years

Employment rate: 100%

Workplace: University of Lausanne, Géopolis

Working languages: French (teaching) and English (research)

Annual Salary: 83160 CHF (first year) with an annual increase

Your responsibilities
  • 50% of working time: personal research within life course or stratification sociology
  • 50% of working time: support of teaching and research activities within the Centre LIVES-UNIL

Tasks related to the administration of the Institute or Faculty may be added in the future.

Your qualifications

The ideal candidate holds the following credentials:

  • a PhD in social sciences (sociology, political science, economy, social psychology or another relevant social science discipline).
  • an interest for interdisciplinary research on the life course.
  • strong statistical expertise, experience in the analysis of large-scale datasets and good skills in Stata and/or R.
  • interest in teaching.
  • working knowledge of French (for teaching) and English (for research).
  • a good research and publication record relative to the career stage.
