Work Location Geneva Expected duration 2.6.-30.11.2025 Duties and Responsibilities Under the guidance of the staff of the UNECE Forest and Bioeconomy Section, the intern will contribute to the activities of the Section in the following areas: • Helping to organize and manage meeting including: intergovernmental meetings, special events, Food in cities, Forests for Fashion and UN Fashion Alliance events and side events at major conferences), webinars and roundtables. • Helping with communication and public relations work including social media feeds and reels, news stories, web site articles, presentations. • Thematic program and project work including nature-based solutions, environmental topics, climate and forest, UNECEs work on "Forest for fashion", supporting the UN Fashion Alliance; UNECEs Trees in Cities Challenge; nature-based solutions or forest and food; • Research and assistance to study and publication production, as required; • Fund-raising and project development. General: Performs other related duties as required, including a variety of administrative tasks necessary for the final delivery of the work units services and related to the ECE Committee on Forests and the Forest Industry (COFFI). Work implies frequent interaction with the following: Staff within work unit/section and peers in department/regional commission; staff of other international organizations working on related issues; academics and representatives of civil society, both NGOs and the business community. Qualifications/special skills Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelors degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Masters or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelors, Masters or PH.D.
